They killed it last night! I have a feeling it's going to be that way every Thursday this month. Faces were melted and new fans were made. I'm really digging the new tunes and I looking forward to the next few weeks with Trama back in town. Here's the set list from last night:
Patterns See It Through Beg and borrow Look You Up Bleeding Window For the Sun White Lantern Yellow woman Sticks and Stones
Trample on Daisies Thieves Scatterbrain Giants Tale of Brave Ulysses Running Down Long ships Justify Sound Overkill (with a tight Steve Dave solo in addition to Tom Arey's nasty drum solo)

Hey y'all Just wanted to thank everyone involved for helping us kick off the residency! I've been to the lizard countless times since I became a local and I love the room- wasn't quite sure how well it would work with us in that space but I was completely shocked at how great it sounded on stage. Feels like playing in my living room!! Really looking forward to playing there every week this month. Also psyched to have Trama with us if/when he gets back from the Islands. We've had a nice chance to really work him into the fold over the last month with so many gigs, and he's sounding great on all the material, especially the acoustic stuff. (be sure to bust his balls about that new acoustic guitar btw). Also we've got a new recording project in the works, so we'll be test driving a bunch more new material at the Lizard in attempts to get it nice and shiny. Maybe a few unexpected covers too who knows! (thats my favorite one) NW

Yeah, no doubt, the Lizard Lounge shows have been really GREAT for the most part. And I have to admit, I was quite skeptical about this room being a good fit for NWG... flat-out worried to be honest. Extremely pleased though with the outcome as far as sound quality & volume are concerned, not to mention the turnout each week. The crowds have brought lots of great energy each week, and last week wound up selling out, so if you decide to go tomorrow, don't wait until the last minute!

Big brother Squatch did indeed make it out and it was a blast. That newer tune Bleeding Window is KILLAH! Guys sounded great, good crowd, I brought some sweet nectar of the gods, and likely caused a pretty bizarre conversation later that night when a nice couple there got home due to the somewhat provocative parting gift I snuck into the dude's jacket. Good times.
